HSKK “answer questions” (回答问题): sample answers & template
The “answer questions” task closes every HSKK level. You read a text question and speak your answer. The reliable way to fill the time and score well is a simple point → reason → example structure.

你喜欢在家做饭还是去饭馆吃饭?为什么?
Do you prefer cooking at home or eating out? Why?
Model answer · original
我更喜欢在家做饭。第一,在家做饭比较健康,可以自己选择新鲜的菜。第二,在家吃饭也能省钱。比如,我周末常常自己做饭,又便宜又好吃。所以我觉得在家做饭更好。
Wǒ gèng xǐhuān zài jiā zuòfàn. Dì-yī, zài jiā zuòfàn bǐjiào jiànkāng, kěyǐ zìjǐ xuǎnzé xīnxiān de cài. Dì-èr, zài jiā chīfàn yě néng shěng qián. Bǐrú, wǒ zhōumò chángcháng zìjǐ zuòfàn, yòu piányi yòu hǎochī. Suǒyǐ wǒ juéde zài jiā zuòfàn gèng hǎo.
I prefer cooking at home. First, cooking at home is healthier — you can choose fresh ingredients yourself. Second, eating at home also saves money. For example, I often cook on weekends; it is both cheap and tasty. So I think cooking at home is better.
你觉得学习一门外语最好的方法是什么?
What do you think is the best way to learn a foreign language?
Model answer · original
我觉得学习外语最好的方法是多练习、多开口。学一门语言不能只看书,还要经常说。比如,我学中文的时候,每天都听录音、跟着说,进步很快。所以我认为最重要的是坚持练习。
Wǒ juéde xuéxí wàiyǔ zuì hǎo de fāngfǎ shì duō liànxí, duō kāikǒu. Xué yì mén yǔyán bùnéng zhǐ kàn shū, hái yào jīngcháng shuō. Bǐrú, wǒ xué Zhōngwén de shíhou, měitiān dōu tīng lùyīn, gēnzhe shuō, jìnbù hěn kuài. Suǒyǐ wǒ rènwéi zuì zhòngyào de shì jiānchí liànxí.
I think the best way to learn a foreign language is to practice a lot and speak a lot. You cannot just read books — you also need to speak often. For example, when I was learning Chinese, I listened to recordings and repeated every day, and improved quickly. So I believe the most important thing is to keep practicing.
Both answers follow the same frame: point → two reasons → a personal example → restate. Memorise the frame, not the words. These everyday-topic examples suit Beginner and Intermediate; at Advanced the questions are more abstract and argumentative, so keep the same frame but develop each reason into a fuller, reasoned paragraph with your own point of view.

What is the HSKK “answer questions” task?
It is the final part of the HSKK at every level: you read one or more text questions and give a spoken answer. There is no audio for the questions themselves — just the on-screen text (with pinyin at Beginner and Intermediate, without pinyin at Advanced).
How long do I have to answer each question?
The answer window depends on the level: about 1.5 minutes at Beginner, 2 minutes at Intermediate and 2.5 minutes at Advanced. Use the shared preparation time to plan before recording.
The sample answers are original, written by TalkHSK as study examples — not official exam answers. TalkHSK scores are AI estimates for practice only. Exam structure and timing follow the official HSKK format.
